Implementation Research

Implementation research promotes the integration of research findings and evidence into healthcare practice. In this context, implementation research will include both designing and conducting implementation research studies that address critical issues identified by the needs assessment. Implementation research relies on mixed methods that integrate or use in complementary ways both qualitative and quantitative data because no one method or set of data can fully capture the complexity of implementation processes and outcomes at multiple levels and over time. Therefore centers may elect to collect qualitative through methods, such as focus groups and key information interviews, as well as quantitative data through methods such as patient, provider or organizational surveys.
